The Cosmetology program allows students to explore the field of cosmetology while integrating theory and practical application in our fully equipped salon.  In addition to the Cosmetology curriculum, students incorporate business management and the functions of operating and owning a salon through real-world projects and partnerships with Junior Achievement.  Students gain a deep understanding of how key scientific concepts in Biology, Chemistry, and Anatomy are applied to skin, hair,  nails, disease, and infection.

Once students study the core foundations of head manipulation, shampooing, sanitation, hair styling, hair cutting, manicures, nail art, pedicures, facial, and massage, they may select a more specific course of studies such as clipper cuts, advanced hair cutting, nail technology or makeup application to specialize.  In addition to practical experiences in our salon, students will participate in community service activities, and field trips and analyze perspectives of various industries through related guest speakers and career-specific training to enhance their learning and understanding of the industry. Students are expected to earn the minimum 1200-hour requirement to be eligible to take the State Board Licensing exam to obtain a Cosmetology License upon graduation.  Senior students may also participate in internships at local salons.

Students may participate in various SkillsUSA competitions in make-up, nail art, haircut, and hairstyle
