Navy Junior ROTC – Leadership and Naval Science

The Navy Junior ROTC Naval Science program is grounded in the Navy's core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment.  The Naval Science program integrates an underwater science curriculum with physical fitness, citizenship, and leadership.  Students who enroll in the program will be introduced to competitive activities that build self-discipline, perseverance, and self-reliance through the Unit Command, Drill Team, Marksmanship program, Color Guard, Mentorship program, and many other activities.   By its very nature, the program helps cadets learn responsibility and self-respect by leading the unit and their peers.  Cadets participate in community service and outreach activities regularly. 

Students will take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery Career Exploration Program (ASVAB CEP) which is used for career exploration is given to students in high schools and/or community colleges.  CEP measures a student's performance in verbal, math, and science/technical skills to determine a student's strengths and aptitude for potential careers. 

Students can earn a PE credit while enrolled in NJROTC.   

Students who participate in at least three years of the program may be eligible for college scholarships at ROTC participating colleges as well as advanced rank and pay upon entering the military.

Students Receive the Following Upon Completion of the Program:

  • Senior Instructor Issued Certificate of Completion
    • Advanced Pay with Military Service
    • Advanced Promotion in Military Service
    • Advanced College Placement in ROTC 2
  • NOCTI JROTC Leadership and Employability Skills Certificate
